    How do I register?

Registering is quick and easy through our sign-up page.

All you need is a mobile phone number, email and either an Australian driver's licence or Medicare card.

If you need any assistance, or want to use an identity document other than a driver’s licence or Medicare card, please call 1800 238 786.

Once registered you will be self-excluded from all online and phone wagering providers licensed in Australia.

What do I need to register?

All you need to register is a mobile phone number, email address and either an Australian driver’s licence or a Medicare card.

If you need any assistance, or want to use an identity document other than a driver’s licence or Medicare card, please call us on 1800 238 786.

Can I choose which wagering providers to self-exclude from?

No. Signing up for BetStop - the National Self-Exclusion Register excludes you from all licensed online and phone wagering companies in Australia.

Can I have support while I am self-excluded?

When registering, you will be provided with the option to nominate someone to support you through your self-exclusion. You can nominate up to 5 people to support you.

This would be a friend, family member, or anyone you feel can support you.

This is optional and you can change or add support persons at any time.

You should discuss this role with your support person and have their consent before you nominate them.

If they say yes, we will contact them at various stages during your self-exclusion and let them know if your registration changes – for example, if you want to extend your exclusion period.

Can you remember my details for the future?

When registering, you will be asked if you want us to remember your details after the end of your self-exclusion.

If you agree, we will retain your account information at the end of your exclusion period so that you can be excluded from phone and online wagering again at any time without needing to register again.

You can change your preference for this any time in your account.

Can I register someone else with BetStop - the National Self-Exclusion Register?

No. A person needs to register themselves for BetStop - the National Self-Exclusion Register.

If someone in your life would benefit from self-exclusion, you may wish to discuss it with them.

We understand that it can be difficult having these conversations. Gambling Help Online provides information on how to have these discussions, as well as information on support that is available, including how to access professional counsellors.

If I am on an existing state or territory self-exclusion register, will my details be transferred?

You will be removed from BetStop - the National Self-Exclusion Register 7 days after we have received your completed cancellation application. If you have a support person, we will also notify them.

You can withdraw your application to cancel at any time during this period if you change your mind.
